Our presenter this month is Jen Jansen.
Jen Jansen is a photographer and musician living and working in San Diego, California. Jansen began her love affair with the silver image in 2000, when she discovered the magic of a silver gelatin darkroom and the hand print. Over the past decade, she has operated several darkroom facilities as well as a portrait studios. Jansen is also known for her custom restorations of antique photographs and frames, as well as her fine silver gelatin printing. Her passion about the process of hand crafting images lead Jansen to discover the artistry of the silver-rich, wet collodion tintype. In February 2009, Jansen opened a modern collodion studio where she offers workshops and specializes in tintype portraiture.
