Schedule
Our club meets twice a month - on the first and third Wednesdays - at 7:30pm. The first Wednesday is devoted to programs where guest speakers share their knowledge and images. Sometimes our speakers are members of our own or other clubs, and sometimes they are professional photographers, printers, framers, art teachers, etc. These meetings are always informative and lots of fun. The third Wednesday of each month we invite a judge in to critique our work. Only members can have their work critiqued, although anyone is welcome to come and observe. All work for this meeting is submitted as prints. (Well...of course! We're the Darkroomers - right?) Judges give each member feedback on their images - what works and what can be improved. Our meetings last approximately 2 hours, with a snack break sometime in the middle.
Wed, Feb 15th - Critique Night Our judge this evening will be professional photographer and instructor Will Gibson. A professional since 1980, he has operated his own commercial studio in San Marcos, CA for over 16 years. He was an artist-in-residence at Rocky Mountain National Park in 1993 and has exhibited in many group and one-man shows throughout California. He has taught photography at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, OH and now teaches photography (digital and traditional) at Palomar Community College in San Marcos, CA. He currently leads the PhotoArts Group which has organized and produced 8 group photographic exhibitions and a workshop over the past two years in San Diego County.
