My Journey as a Landscape Astrophotographer with Stephen Bay @ Zoom
Jun 2 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Darkroomers members will be sent Zoom log in info via email. If you’d like to attend as a guest, please contact us so we can add you to the guest list.

Although I’ve been a photographer for many years, I’ve only recently started photographing the night sky and trying to capture the Milky Way and other celestial bodies. In this talk, I’ll go over my journey as a landscape astrophotographer. Starting from the very beginning where I fumbled around in the dark and couldn’t operate my camera properly to the point where I am doing shoots that require hours of planning and fieldwork. I’ll go over how I choose my subjects and why I strive to remain local even when sky conditions are not the best.

Vicki Wert is a Cleveland-based photographer with an eclectic background.  She is a lifelong classically-trained musician and also a retired Certified Public Accountant.  She is also passionate about the art of photography in spite of earning her living in other fields.  She has been involved in photography for more than 30 years, and after joining the Cleveland Photographic Society (CPS) 11 years ago, she became very serious in her pursuit of that art.  She has won numerous awards at CPS and has been honored to take part in many exhibitions in the Cleveland area.  She is also a Photoshop instructor at CPS and serves on the board of directors.  While enjoying most types of subject matter, Vicki particularly pursues landscape, wildlife, floral, and macro photography.
