About Diane
I hail from Rochester New York – the home of Eastman Kodak! And, yes, I worked for Kodak and am a current retiree. And, my family was a Kodak family – grandfather, aunts, uncles, and my Dad. I took up photography at a young age, motivated by the fact that I was more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it! I took numerous photography classes while employed by Kodak and that was in the days of the darkrooms!
Eventually, I relocated from Rochester to California but still kept photographing. Initially, I joined 2 “camera clubs”, and then I joined the Photographic Society of America (PSA). After joining PSA, I took their “Image Evaluation” course. I have competed internationally; having received awards, honorable mentions, and a judge’s choice award.
I have judged competitions for the PSA Council of Camera Clubs (Southern California Association of Camera Clubs – (SCACC), Southern California Council of Camera Clubs (S4C), and have judged for several years for the Fallbrook Camera Club. Lastly, for the last few years, I have volunteered to judge the Student Showcase at the San Diego Fair. In 2017, I was accepted as a judge in the International Exhibit of Photography at the San Diego Fair.
I love photography – it is the best hobby I could have found and I consider myself lucky to be able to continue my passion into the future.
