About Alex Kunz

Originally from Germany, Alexander S. Kunz has called the greater San Diego area his home since October 2010. He has been using Lightroom (Classic) to organize and develop his photos since 2007, when version 1 of the software was released, and now works as a tutor and expert for the software, with local and international clients, as well as teaching classroom and online workshops on organization, workflow and developing photos with Lightroom.

He also works as a landscape & nature photographer. His prints decorate local health care facilities, offices and private residences alike; his works are licensed to international clients and aide conservation efforts. His favorite photography subject are intimate landscapes, but living in the rich and diverse environment and topography of San Diego County has also made him very fond of the desert landscape, as well as the native flora.

Kevin La Rue Flyer

You’ve spent countless hours creating amazing photos — but if they’re buried on a hard drive or lost in social feeds, no one will truly appreciate them.

The truth is, until your work is displayed in a professional portfolio, it won’t get the recognition it deserves — even if your shots rival the pros.

Join Kevin La Rue from SlickPic to discover a proven playbook for spotlighting your photography, getting discovered online with our SEO Hive System, and finally earning the admiration of peers and pros alike.

In this live session, you’ll see how to:

  • Build a custom portfolio website in minutes.
  • Create pro galleries that outshine social media.
  • Securely share images with different audiences.
  • Deliver curated MobiAlbums right to phones.
  • Try NEW tools: MagicFill AI, eCO Copyright Helper, Smart Photo Reviewer, and more.

We’ll also compare the pros and cons of building your own site versus having SlickPic’s designers craft one for you. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a pro-level portfolio without the tech headaches, this is your chance to make it happen.

Welcome to another year and another wonderful photo opportunity with Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk (WWPW) at the fabulous and famous La Jolla Cove. I’ll be your leader for this walk – my name is Kevin and I’m a passionate photographer, a member of Darkroomers (an awesome photo club here in San Diego), and have worked for several photography software/cloud companies since 2006 – whew, a long time, and lots of stories!

This year, we’re going to catch some wonderful early morning sunlight (if the fog cooperates!) as we stroll from the Cove beach around past the Bridge Club towards Children’s Pool and beyond. Sunrise is at 6:45am and high tide is at 8:13am. In past years, it has been a little on the cool side at the start, but heats up nicely as the walk goes on, so my advice would be to bring a light jacket.

If you like to shoot birds and other critters, bring your long lens, but otherwise this is a “target-rich environment” so any lens will be just fine. Seriously, there’s a lot to look at: Ocean, swimmers, rock structures, sea lions, birds, people/artists, street shooting and architecture up in the Village – and I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch.

We’ll end at a coffee/pastry/breakfast shop called Better Buzz to “debrief”, talk about how the WWPW photo contest works and more. Hope to see y’all there! Reach out if you have any questions at all!
