SCACC Interclub Competition Guidelines

The Interclub Competition is a juried digital image competition held every other month, starting in March (i.e., odd-numbered months). It is open to the competitive clubs within the Southern California Association of Camera Clubs (SCACC), including Darkroomers.

Eligible Images

  • Images must have been accepted by a judge at a Darkroomers monthly exhibition.

Selection Process

  • Images are chosen by the Interclub Director.
  • Up to 10 images are submitted on behalf of Darkroomers for each Interclub round.
  • Members whose images are selected will be notified directly.

Preparing your Files for the Interclub Competition

All entries must be submitted electronically. Only JPEG files are accepted. No TIFF, PSD, PNG, or other file types will be considered.

Format

  • JPEG only
  • sRGB color space
  • File size must not exceed 1.4 MB

Dimensions

  • Recommended: at least 1920 pixels wide or 1080 pixels tall
  • Image will be scaled to fit the judge’s monitor

FirstName_LastName_ImageTitle.jpg

Image Submission Instructions

If you wish to have your images considered for the Interclub Competition, please email your accepted exhibition images to: interclub@darkroomers.com

Judging & Awards

  • Judging is done by a panel of experts
  • Images are scored, and First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mentions are awarded
  • Winning entries go on to compete in the Interclub Year-End Competition
  • Clubs earn points toward a yearly team award, memorialized on a plaque in the gallery

SCACC Interclub Year-End Competition

The SCACC Interclub Year-End Competition is typically held the fourth Saturday in March at 9:00 AM at the Photographic Arts Building.

  • No categories; judged from previous Interclub winning and honored entries
  • Images scored 7–9 by a panel of judges
  • Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place + Honorable Mentions
  • All winning and Image of the Year entries are framed and displayed in the Foyer Gallery

Nelson’s Award:

  • Given to the best Image of the Year across all competitive clubs
  • Winning photographer’s name is engraved on the SCACC perpetual trophy, displayed in the breezeway gallery
