Photoshop Techniques, Real-Life Examples with Larry Vogel

Larry Vogel Presents: Photoshop Techniques, Real-Life Examples – Problems & Solutions

Larry has been holding monthly critique sessions for over thirty years. During these sessions, he has helped hundreds of photographers improve the quality of their photographs through group critiques and offering image processing solutions through Photoshop.

Vogel has gathered thousands of “real-life” images from past critique participants. He will draw from this collection of photos as he leads the group through a series of before and after Real Life Examples, showing image problems and Photoshop solutions. This is guaranteed to satisfy both sides of the technical and aesthetic photographer.

Zen in art of photography – The creative process.

One of the major things I missed whilst giving my workshops online was the conversation.  It really is hard, certainly for me, to have a good conversation with a group through the internet.  So, I’m excited to get back to live workshops particularly as my workshops are really just conversations.  I am a great believer that we learn best by participating and sharing with like-minded people.  Good conversation is a perfect method and hopefully, it will give you an entirely new way of looking at yourself and your work as a visual storyteller.

Some of the subjects we’ll talk through are, why do we make photographs and what is the difference between taking and making a photograph – what makes an artist – the artist as a storyteller and being literate as a visual storyteller – choosing our subject and our relationship with it – how important is intuition and what does it tell us about ourselves, what are we thinking about when we make a photograph.  Like any good conversation, it will take on a life of its own and will cover many more subjects that will inspire and excite you to make photographs.

My role in this is just as a guide taking you through a journey because there are certain things no one can teach you.  Hopefully, though, new doors will open giving you the opportunity to explore.

Attendees need to bring:

  • Camera
  • 3-4 prints (size not important)
  • Snack/lunch
