Join us for our First Wednesday Monthly Meeting. First Wednesday Meetings are lectures, talks, discussions, or presentations.
This meeting will be held in person at the Photographic Arts Building in Balboa Park (next to Spanish Village).

From Hobby to Passion: My Journey of Photography
Michelle Pennings will be sharing her humble beginning back in high school and where her love of photography has taken her today – a crazy and fun journey!
About Michelle:
Michelle is an International Award-Winning Fine Art Photographer located in San Diego, CA. She is the Director of West Coast School of Photography and has served as secretary of Professional Photographers of California. Michelle has earned her CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) and is currently working to earn her Masters in Photography from PPA. Michelle specializes in themed portrait sessions for children. When she isn’t busy creating new sets and painting backdrops she can be found photographing underwater.

The meeting will start promptly at 7 pm, but we’ll open the building at 6 pm for setup and social hour.
Join us for our Monthly Critique Night!
Our judge for November will be Lin Craft.
On the third Wednesday of each month, members bring in prints for critique. Prints accepted by the Judge will hang for up to 2 months in the Photographic Arts Building gallery.

About Lin Craft
Lin Craft is an award-winning photographer whose long love affair with nature, travel, and photography has led to adventures all over the globe.
Lin grew up in Oregon, received her B.S. in Zoology from Oregon State University and a Master’s degree in Marine Science from the University of Puerto Rico. After teaching for several years at the College of the Virgin Islands she moved to California to pursue a Doctoral degree in Marine Biology at USC in Los Angeles. While a grad student, she had the remarkable opportunity to do research in Antarctica that involved diving under the ice. She worked in the marine environmental consulting field until retiring in 2010. As a diving marine biologist, she made more than 4500 SCUBA dives and was a NAUI SCUBA Instructor. For many years her photography was focused on the underwater world, but has since expanded to include all nature subjects, landscape, and travel photography.
Lin has judged for the San Diego County Fair and judges frequently for camera clubs and PSA-recognized International Exhibitions. She has presented more than 160 slide and digital programs for schools, camera clubs, photo conferences and community organizations. She has had several gallery shows, and her images have been published in books, calendars, and brochures.
Lin has been President of the Fallbrook Camera Club most years since 1987 and is a past-President of SCACC (the Southern California Association of Camera Clubs) where she was honored as a Fellow. Lin has been a very active member of PSA (the Photographic Society of America) for over 30 years. She has held numerous positions in PSA including as Chairman of the Nature Division and has received numerous service awards and honors.
