The meeting will start promptly at 7 pm, but we’ll open the building at 6 pm for setup and social hour.
Join us as award-winning photographer, Paulette Donnellon, takes us on a photographic journey to some of our state and federation recreational lands. She will share her favorite subjects to photograph within a day’s drive from San Diego, an overnight trip outside of San Diego County, and a quick plane ride for a weekend excursion.
About Paulette
Paulette is an award-winning photographer who enjoys taking pictures of nature and wildlife as a hobby. Her image of an Eastern Collared Lizard will be on the 2024 America the Beautiful National Park Pass. When she isn’t taking pictures, she is employed by LEGO® Education and, in her spare time, serves as a trustee for the San Diego County Board of Education. Paulette also served nine years in the U.S. Army and was deployed during Desert Storm.

Join us for our Monthly Critique Night!
Our judge for September is Duane Murphy.
Members bring prints for critique on the third Wednesday of each month. Prints accepted by the Judge will hang for up to 2 months in the Photographic Arts Building gallery.
Visitors are welcome, however, submitting images for critique is available for members only. If you’d like more information about joining Darkroomers, please check out our membership page and email us if you have any questions.

Duane started Great American Portraits to change people’s lives by creating custom photography based on the unique experiences of each person’s life.
I want to help make people’s lives better by allowing them to see themselves and what respect, love, comfort, and more all look like in their own lives by creating fun, loving custom portraits that take them to a special emotional time in their lives.
When not photographing people, I help photographers become better at the business and the art of photography to make their own lives better! There is so much to the art and science of photography we all learn best by learning hands-on from those who have already traveled this road before us. I love to share this journey with you!

Join the Darkroomers Photographic Club members for a photo walk around Balboa Park. We’ll share our favorite spots to capture the park’s amazing architecture and the best places for people-watching and street photography. The walk will last approximately two hours, starting and ending at the Photographic Arts Building next to Spanish Village (NOT the Museum of Photographic Arts).
At a minimum, you’ll want to bring a camera (Phone, DSLR, Mirrorless, you choose!). If you have interchangeable lenses, keep it simple with gear you’re comfortable walking with and carrying. Tripods are optional.
