About Lin Craft

Lin Craft is an award-winning photographer whose long love affair with nature, travel, and photography has led to adventures all over the globe.

Lin grew up in Oregon, received her B.S. in Zoology from Oregon State University and a Master’s degree in Marine Science from the University of Puerto Rico. After teaching for several years at the College of the Virgin Islands she moved to California to pursue a Doctoral degree in Marine Biology at USC in Los Angeles. While a grad student, she had the remarkable opportunity to do research in Antarctica that involved diving under the ice. She worked in the marine environmental consulting field until retiring in 2010. As a diving marine biologist, she made more than 4500 SCUBA dives and was a NAUI SCUBA Instructor. For many years her photography was focused on the underwater world, but has since expanded to include all nature subjects, landscape, and travel photography.

Lin has judged for the San Diego County Fair and judges frequently for camera clubs and PSA-recognized International Exhibitions. She has presented more than 160 slide and digital programs for schools, camera clubs, photo conferences and community organizations. She has had several gallery shows, and her images have been published in books, calendars, and brochures.

Lin has been President of the Fallbrook Camera Club most years since 1987 and is a past-President of SCACC (the Southern California Association of Camera Clubs) where she was honored as a Fellow. Lin has been a very active member of PSA (the Photographic Society of America) for over 30 years. She has held numerous positions in PSA including as Chairman of the Nature Division and has received numerous service awards and honors.
