Join Darkroomers
Photography is better when it's shared. Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or have years of experience behind the lens, Darkroomers offers a welcoming community where you can learn, create, and grow alongside fellow photographers.
Guests are always welcome at our meetings. Membership gives you the full Darkroomers experience—including print exhibitions, competitions, workshops, photo walks, field trips, and opportunities to share your work.
How to Join
Becoming a member is easy:
- Download and complete the membership application.
- Bring your completed application to a Darkroomers meeting.
- Review our Bylaws and print-submission guidelines.
- Pay the annual membership dues of $55.

Please note: Membership runs on a calendar-year basis, from January 1 through December 31. Annual dues are non-refundable and are not prorated, regardless of when you join. Renewal dues are due at the beginning of each calendar year.
Membership Benefits
As a Darkroomers member, you can:
- Submit up to three prints at each Monthly Exhibition & Critique Night
- Receive constructive feedback from experienced guest judges
- Exhibit accepted work in the Photographic Arts Building gallery
- Participate in quarterly, year-end, and SCACC interclub competitions
- Attend educational presentations, workshops, photo walks, and field trips
- Share your projects and photography journeys during Member Spotlights
- Attend programs offered by other SCACC member clubs
- Connect with photographers of all experience levels
- Vote on club business and help shape the future of Darkroomers

A Community That Works Together
Darkroomers is a volunteer-run organization, and member participation keeps our programs and shared spaces thriving. Members may be asked to:
- Host the gallery two or three times per year
- Join a group cleanup once or twice per year
- Help with workshops, photo walks, lectures, or public events
- Bring refreshments or assist with meeting setup
- Support club officers and program leaders when needed
You don't need special experience to help—just a willingness to participate. Guidance and support are always available.
